sevgili hocam, I went to Istanbul Modern Art Museum for the homework.First of all, I want to state that all the works in the museum are good examples of expressing the inner world of their artists. If we have a general look at paintings in the museum, I can easily say that every work carries its own meaning ,but some are hidden and some are explicit. And especially these explicit ones have some techniques to express the artist's aim or what he/she wants to say or cry out to viewers carefully and this use of techniques and styles enables us to get the artist' mood or mind. And there can be seen many successful examples of tis. For instance, the oil paint of ibrahim örs "technocrat" is a good example of shade and light composition.this conveys to the painting dynamism and reality. The same is valid for the
"Arm merchant" by Osman Hamdi Bey.I thinh he is the best of this area in the museum.it seems to be so real that you think that you face to face with a real man.another example is that Naile Akıncı's "Eyüp". she shows us the details of the environment we look at every day but we don't see.Especially in abstract works, the artists convey the meaning to the colors.I think even the artists are not sure about what he/she tries to tell to viewers by the choice of those colors scattered onto the paintings.that is ,there is no scientific definiteness.Geometric forms take the most important role in conveyig the meaning.Briefly,I absolutely quarentee you that only the ones who try to experss their inner world clearly can be regarded as successful without using verbal aor non-verbal language.at least tis is vald for me.(hocam bu arada çok teşşekkürler beni ilk defa müzeye gitmeye zorla da olsa teşvik ettiğiniz için.sanat müzeleri hayatımda nefret ettiğim yerlerin başında gelirdi.ama bu günden sonra fikrin değişti.çok memnun kaldım bu iştenh.artık fırsat buldukça giderim heralde.hayatın başka taraflarını görmek insanı monotonluktan çıkarıyo doğrusu.not:arkadaşlar!hemen yalaka falan demeyin samimi söylüyorum.çok "cool" bi şeydi benim için.hocam sizin gibi hocaları hep pistlerde görmek isteriz!take care
BU ARADA ÜSTTEKİ YORUMU EKSİK GÖNDERDİM YANLIŞLIKLA.BUNU KAALE ALIN.

I went to İstanbul modern arts museum. All artists try to convey their ideas about environment, people, events and possibilities without using oral or written language. However, actually they use an effective ad forceful language with symbolic elements, ways. The thing that we should do is capturing the hidden message from paintings.
The work that arouse my interest most is Man of Earth by Neşat Günal. I think this work reflects of this man(actually all of the farmers, men of earth. It gives us a clue about Anotolian people and their life styles. Without verbal language we can understand how difficult the life for him and how he lives in harsh conditions. Ragged clothes of the man, expressions of man’s face strengthen my thoughts about the man.
In his work, woman in black, Balkan Naci İslimyeli also express his ideas about this woman. I think black adds pessimism to work. It reflects the state of the woman’s mind.
In short, I believe that artists want to teach something together with their aim to entertain people.

I visited "intersecting times" exhibition in İstanbul Museum of Modern Art.I think painting is very important in that it tells us that language is not the only way of expressing thoughts. When looked one of the works of Ömer Uluç called "abstract composition",the human figures can be easily realized. He defined the human body as a shape. You can not see th details, only the general shapes of the bodies are clear. Most importantly, these figures are different from each other. For example, they do not have the same colours.Perhaps, the artist tried to stress the variety of people by using different colours. Each individuals has special features. They have different characters, thoughts, lives."Forest Nymph" the work of Hamit Görele is my second example. The woman in this work is very simple and pure. Her face isn't clear.Perhaps, she represents the purity of all women so the details of her face aren't important. In general,we can not understand the real feelings of the artists. We can only predict.Art is a way of expessing feelings but it is not as definite as language.

Hello I visited Istanbul Modern Art Gallery and the exhibition I visited was about abstract works. Actually I’m not interested in abstract works it is harder to understand what they want to figure out if you do not have background.
For me ,the artist is just opening the door, gives some clues at his/her work and the rest part is just up to your imagination. Especially if the name of the work is untitled, it becomes harder to give a meaning to the work.
For example, the artist Gurkan Coskun has such a work. His work is untitled and he brings together four figures whose relation can not be completely defined. It is written that four figures suggest four different states of mind expressed through happy, anxious , mysterious and seductive expressions.
Altough it is not a written form of language, it requires a background knowledge of abstract works and we still need some clues of artist to give complete meaning to his/her work. I can not claim that artists are not successful but that is why I confronted with such an hardship while trying to understand the language of the artist.

Hello,I have visited Istanbul Museum Of Modern Art.There are so many paintings that I have affected.I have study on nearly nine of them. All they are changing about times, cultures, places and backgrounds of the artists. One of the most powerfull painting is the otoportrait of Abdulmecid,I think. He express himself as he wants to be.There is a honored and powerfull person on this portrait.Although his face bears the marks of old age and his eyes looks melancholic, he has the powers. How can we feel this? It's in the colours that he used blue and red, it's in the face and uniform of Abdulmecid. There are so many madalions on it.We can understand these by the help of our eyes. Now I want to attract your attention to another work:"pictures for blinds" by Husamettin Kocan. He had worked on a human body.He embossed the body and some of the organs position. It's not only address to us but also it's for blind people. They can feel it by touching the painting. So speaking and writing are not the only ways to express our feelings and thoughts.Paintings and pictures also express them very powerfully by their dominated colours, compositions, and the atmospheres of them. Some of the abstract paintings can not easily understand so for this, we have to know some aboutthe artists background or the events that happened to these times etc.For example;"forest nymph" by Hamit Gorele:blue tones that dominate the composition, tranquality and impession of time, reflect a dream forest and a mytological story. We can sey lots of things about this work it changes about person to person. Finally, I want to say that art is one of the best ways to express our thoughts. It's a different language that using by the artists.

This caused for us to see value and interesting arts... sometimes, i can say,you find yourself in these arts and you start thinking as if you lived in artist's time... this is my firs comments on blogger,i hope it will be better in th future.. have a nice holiday..

Hi friends and dear Tuncer teacher:)I visited İstanbul Modern museum too, like most of our friends. It was really incredible..People display their works and many of them are without any explanation, the rest is exactly related to your creativity, imagination. There are not only pictures drawn also some videos, projectors. For example there is a room. Some vision is reflected from ceiling to the place which we step on.The vision consists only so many garbages. When you walk on it,the display is moving from room's one side to other. When you first enter this room, you can not understand what is happening and there is no explanation but then you can understand that when you are walking on it and it is moving, you are being a part of it.You are being a part of the passing time. There are many things to tell but I want to tell most effective things for me.Generally naked women are preferred in paints. For example in a picture, first a big naked man's body is drawn then a smaller naked woman on him without any letter. There are different comments on them. When I say that The nakedness is preferred because of reflecting purity and the reason of being drawn smaller woman than man is because of the feeling of taking shelter in of woman, the one of the other friends says that it is drawn for arousing only somebody's interest.May be he is right, why not.In this museum, everybody can easily understand that books, novels are given so much importance beside pictures, slides, tools. When we first entered museum,we saw that many books were being swang by wires from celing. When passing under those books,I can not tell how I effected by it as a fanatic reader of novels.I think they are succesful in taking attention from every group of people. The museum can exactly reflect, tell without needing any word itself.Really I can not finish by telling the things which I have met there,The only thing to say for you is to visit there and liven up your imagination.Have a nice holiday...

COMMENTS( İSMET DOĞAN )

As in whole pictures ,there is no word but artist says more impressively whatever he wants to tell. We understand what he meant when we look its details, but even topic is same “comments”personal view is different because it is affected different dimensions (culture, religion, birth place etc) When I look this picture , firs thing which ı see is body but it is without eyes but around it there are lots of eyes and letters..these thing are common. We see these concrete things (eye, body ,letters) generally in daily life don’t we?but body without eyes force us to think ;Are we free while deciding or thinking some thing ?can we look realities by means of our eyes ? around body there are eyes ;are we alone while making an decision? How others look event is more important than the way we see isn t it ?And turkish letters …COMMENTS OF OTHERS … Even we decide something which is true for us, If society ‘s opinion about our truth is not as the same way with us,we change it… we behave as if we have’nt got eyes while looking the world. Something gives shape to us without awereness. Maybe we dont want to aware of that. As summary artist force us to judge ourselves with combining these irrelevant three things without words.

Language is not only nouns, verbs, phrases, idioms and whatever requring voice-sounds.Moreover,it can be transmitted in many ways more than one,can have dual aspect.this got mor prominent when I visited İSTANBUL MODERN ART MUSEUM.There are lots of pictures cetegorized into some group. according to their topic.Even they are in the same group, the way they are expressed is not the same.Different point of view.different style..So I came to a result from this, this is that language is not predictable but producable.Maybe we can not estimate what the artist will paint when we look at his/her face, but when we see the result we can say that, there can be lots of other expressions revealed, based on basic theme. Therefore;duality of language exists also in these pictures.Consequently;verbal or non-verbal...Language has wide fan requring deep questioning ,intensive evaluating and infinite creativity.

I visited PERA ART MUSEUM.There are many works of art by several artists. All of the artists wanted to give a message without speaking or writing:they only let their art speak in a way to express their thoughts. In the museum first I analyzed the work of art of 'SULTAN AHMET 3 RECEİVİNG A EUROPEAN AMBASSADOR by JEAN BAPTİSTE VANMOUR.When i first look at the painting the poses of the people mostly interested me.some of them were standing with thoughtful and nervous faces by sticking one to another ;namely as if they were taking power from the other next to them.In that audience ceremony, sultan(sitting down) was a bit indifferent or tried to be seem like that;but the others standing up had some expectations. This is evident from their eyes which are tryıng to say something..In short when you look at this painting you can easily see the different portraits with different hopes ;these are hiden in their poses and views...The other painting I analyzed is:A SCENE FROM A TURKİSH HAREM by FRANZ HERMANN, HANS GEMMİNGER,VALENTİN MUELLER.I think,in that tre is a secret world beyond the empire.the doors are closed , only woman are there.IN the eyes of westerners fantasy, mystery and privacy of the HAREM were imagined in different ways.PAİNTERS called on their powers of imagination.THE secret life of harem behind closed doors and its inaccesibility to the outside world trigger the imagination of painters...women were shown as the main characters there and they are respectful to each other.it is evident from their wearings ,eyes and poses../PINAR KARAAHMETOGLU /3231040096

Hello teacher
Franhly speaking,l can not say l understood some works of art which l visited at ISTANBUL MODERN ART MUSEUM.Especialy the works about esthetics, but l liked the sections about natural and social life.Because l could see what artists want to express by drawwing thoose works. For example, when l looked at natural works l thought that artists want to express the desire for living in a green, clean and beautiful enviroment.social works also take my attention, because theese works reflect real life.Particularly,DONNA CONLONS'S work CİTY GHOSTS(ŞEHİR HAYALETLERİ) is very attractive.because as Donna
expresses in her work we exterminate our beautiful environment by doing buildings every place.shortly, visiting the museum changed my perspective to look at works of art.l understood that we can express many things without even saying a word

I visited Pera museum last week. There were there exhibitions at the same time. On the first floor on the right side there was an exhibition called Anatolian Weights and Measures and On the left side Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics. On the second floor Portraits from the Empire were on exhibition.
In this exhibition the sultans of Ottoman Empire, Ottoman women, Ottoman society were picturized. In the 18th century in particular, with growing political and trade relations many diplomats, merchants, travelers and also many artists(most of them were employed in diplomatic circles) had come to the Ottoman capital. These artists had painted the ottoman sultans, ottoman women and different occasions (for example: Audience ceremonies, receptions of ambassadors from different countries) which took place in the Ottoman Empire. These artists (Antonie de Favray, Jean-Babtiste Vanmour,…etc) aren’t very famous like Picasso, Van Gogh or Dali. What they painted aren’t abstract things as by Dali (who defined his paintings as handmade dreams) instead these paintings reflect the history. As a visitor you don’t need to make a big effort to comment the artists’ intention by painting. I compare these paintings to factual data where the adjectives which can have influence on our thinking ways aren’t employed. The paintings of Dali or Picasso are like poems where you can get different meanings based on your age, experience, life style, background information …etc.
A portrait in this exhibition named ‘A European in Turkish Costume’ was very striking for me. This portrait displays obviously the admiration of Europeans toward the Ottoman customs and usage. Out of this Portrait there were other European women’s portraits in Ottoman costumes. The other interesting thing was the ‘Harem’ paintings. Although the western artists couldn’t get any opportunity to observe the Ottoman women at home, they based their pictures of harem mainly on written source, and they sometimes also used non-Muslim models or called on their powers of imagination. This exhibition was in my opinion a different way of conveying history to the next generations. Not only the written sources or our history teachers who teach us history verbally in units but also these paintings can help us to get more information about our history.

MODERN SANAT

'NO NAME'BY ZEKAİ ORMANCI
The artist painted to the left a magnifying glass to show us that there is a reality beyond we see that we cant see wıthout looking carefully. There ıs a man fıgure ın utter confusıon who doesnt know where to, go what to do...there are masked people maybe they are forger, liar, evil or people who want to effect the man ın a manevolent way.The lower part of the painting is black. The higher part is red. Maybe the lower part of the painting is the symbol of endelessness and the higher part is the life itself. On the higher part of the paintingthere are lots of geometrical shapes ıt can be the symbol of confusıon of the life. There is a witch fıgure wıth big, black hat between life and death and the man ıs a bit closer to this.Among all the confusıon disorder there are sth pure we understand it from the whıteness after the red geometical shapes.
Another people who look at this painting can wrtıte different thıngs about ıt. It changes person to person I liked this...

Hi everybody! I visited Istanbul Museum of Modern Art last week.Actually I had wanted to go there many times beforehand, but I always postponed it.So this homework was a great chance for me.Before I went there, I had supposed that it wouldn’t take a long time to wander in the museum. But I spent approximately four hours there. There were many marvellous paintings, works of art, a selection from 51st international Venice Bienale and a photograph exhibition of Gökşin Sipahioğlu.As I was looking at any work of art, I feel as if I was in a distinct world. Each of them aroused unusual feelings in my heart. While rambling in the musuem, my mind was busy with the question of how a person can make the other people happy, sad or anxious or excited without using any verbal statement, just by means of a painting or a photo or somethingelse. It is the art which can enable people to make their inner worlds visible even without using any word. One of the most striking masterpiece which mirrors the own world of painter was the self-portrait of Abdülmecid. If you remember the Ottoman history, you can remind who Abdülmecid is.He was the Ottoman Empire’s last heir.He was a prince who had to abondon the throne before getting a chance to rule. His face that bears the marks of old age and melancholic look of him reflect us his spiritual position perfectly in his self-portrait.The sharpness of lines, the meaning that is conveyed to colours, different angles of works of art express feelings and thoughts by means of a non-verbal language(pictorial language or language of art).It was an extraordinary expedition of discovery in artists’ souls for me..

In our life, every activity has different importance. For example; a cinema-theatre give different point of views or taking photos gives different values or visiting a museum provides us ways of thinking not being the same with the others. All of them includes different styles of expression such as verbal or non-verbal.I visited the İstanbul Museum of Modern Art at the last week. And, this visiting was a big chance to get rid of my monotomous life in last days.I claim that all artists express their feelings, thoughts, ideas and beliefs very well in their works. In a word, their iner worlds are showed by means of their minds, observations and creativitiy. When we look at their works, generally we notice what they want to give us through colors, mymics, body position, design of picture, dimensions, clothes and melancholic figures. While we use form of sentences, tones, exclamations to express ourselves in language, they use shade and light position, colors, sight, etc..According to me, one of the most attractive works was Arm Merchant and his child by Osman Hamdi Bey.In picture, details of environment , colors and body position are given the best.In this way, we feel closer to real and we think that a man in picture is face to face with us.Osman Hamdi sits on steps and he raises his hand towards to his child. We can conclude that Osman Hamdi gives advices the young boy.The meaning is reflected in the best way by means of place, body position, mymics, clothes, colors and details of environment providing to see meanings behind of pictures.Briefly, I think that all works were worth seeing.

When we express our thoughts or emotıons by speaking, artists convey theirs with a non-verbal language, with the help of their works, products.when we go to a museum and look at the pictures, portraits we interpret them and think that the painter wants us to think like this or that but we do not talk to him then how we know which thought he has by drawing it.
the answer is simpleas l write about it above:the artists talk usıng their works.to understand this better l went to İstanbul Modern Art Museum and when l looked at the perfect abstract works l was affected especially by one of them.ıt was the picture which is drawn by Burhan Doğançayı in 1990.The name of the picture is Telefon Boxes.Maybe it is like a simple name but tells lots of things.as soon as you look at the picture you imagine a street because the surface of carvas like a wall and there are two telofon boxes on it.also the most important thing is the cables coming out from the boxes are cut down.when l look at it a bit longer a crowded city like istanbul came to my mind.the cables which were cut tell us indifference of people.there are lots of houses and lots of people in them for usıng telefon but they do not use them.they do not interests to each other.Think a bit İstanbul, people do not care the others, when they see a person needing help they only look and go, they do not do anything else.People think only themselves and their benefits, the others are not important for them.
this is my deductions about the picture. When another person look at the same picture he can interpret it differently because artists do not want to give only a message, they want us to think and find something which belongs to us.Certainly they have some emotions and thoughts while they are drawing but when people look at their works, despite seeing the same thing they think different things. This is the power of art and language.

Sometimes you can explain whatever you want to say without words.I really understood this when went İstanbul Modern Museum. In the past I couldn’t understand the aim of modern art because it was aganist from reality and order of nature and life for me but now I can see its deep meanings. As I said before;literary language is not the only way to express ourselves and Istanbul Modern and its works of art pioneer to show this. The Museum divided different parts and more than one exhibition are displayed but especially some of them are really affected me such as abstact-lyrical,abstract-geometric,nature,figure/human body and visual shows. As I analyzed the arts in abstract-lyrical,I realized that artists in this area are in search of a new order as an alternative to nature. At the same time they are dreamed of discovering a new beauty. They liberated the meanings we attach to colors endeavoring to forge a harmonious link between forms. They are playing a game whose consequences can not be foreseen using color form, gesture and expression. At times they touch the surface of the painting with lyrical exuberance. For example;Güngör Taner’s art ‘Enigma/1996’ is really a masterpiece for me.He used ‘green’ like a deity. His color choice is very successful, when you look at the Picture you can see all nature. His art is like three dimensional because of his magnificient toning.Another area is abstract-geometric.In this part;artists are who just like a mathematician. The mystery behind being is displayed very well. The purity perceived in color and line is intended to contribute to the system existing in nature. For example;Zeki Ormancı’s art ‘anonymous/1999’ is one of the most attractive work of art in this area.Liveliness and order of colors are the basic specialities of this art.The figures are excessively clear as they are jumping from the picture.Another striking work of art is ‘retrospective/1997 from Adnan Coker. In this picture;breeze of Kubism is clearly seen. The artist tried to analyze nature by the help of geometry. There is not much color in it but the meaning is very deep. The last work of art that affects me is ‘the arena of sun’ by Fahrelnissa Zeid. Now lets have a look for another area ‘figure/human body.Burhan Doğaçay’s arts such as ‘telephone boxes, magnificient age and Istanbul are good examples which reflect this area succesfully. He used real objects in his works such as newsprints and cables;his aim of using this kind of things is doing a social, political criticism of city life.Irfan Onurmen work ‘in the room’ is another example.By using tulles,he created a different style of art and I think he is very succesful. At the same time Utku varlık’s work ‘I go forward masked/1996’ is the second masterpiece after Enigma for me.It shows both dreams and phase of life. Moreover it explains how birth is a miracle.Generally figures/human body area believes that human body can be divided then can be established. When you look at the pictures in this area closely, you can not see figures cleary but by going away you can see one than one figures in the same picture especially by looking different sides you can find different figures which are unforeseen. The last attractive masterpieces are ‘Tonight’ by Valeska Soares, ‘Breath’ by Nikos Navridis and ‘+ and –’by Mona Hatoum. In the first work of art you can see dancing of imaginary partners,in the second one you can live both birth and death and especially proximity of death(sound effects are perfect). All of them are visual feast which is worth of seeing. After I read my homework I realize how I am affected to this exhibition. Thanks for your collimation.

hi,ıt must be really powerfull thıng whıch ıs the need of expressıng our thoughts,ıdeas,emotıons,feelıngs...ıt's not ımportant the way of statıng them, you can state verbally or non-verbally ,how you can succeed ıt.ı've seen ın the Pera Art Museum that thıs need of expressıng thoughts,ıdeas, emotıons creates excellent works.Paınters opens a dıfferent world's doors to us by statıng theır ıdeas or thoughts through facıal expressıons, colours, physıcal appearence, cloths, body posıtıons etc.In thıs museum there are pıctures of Ottomon Empıre and The Harem. The pıcture of Sultan Ahmet Receıvıng a European Ambassador by JEAN BAPTISTE VANMAR ıs the one whıch effected me extremely.Wıth facıal ımpressıons the paınter states authorty of Sultan Ahmet and the bıg dıfferences between two communıty.The quests are nervous, thoughtfull they look curıously around, they handle each other lıke waıtıng support from people around them,on the other sıde the communıty of palace looks quıetly relaxed, they gossıp wıth each other,smıle by lookıng at the guests.Of course we can make lots of comments lıke thıs but ıt's very personal, anybody can comment dıfferently.Statıng ıdeas ın thıs way ıs really a hard work,ıt needs abılıty but ıt is the most effectıve,prıvatıve may be not completely clear but the perfect way.ÜMRAN BÜYÜK/3231040058

So, here is my work on “musical language”.

I was searching for interesting videos on “you tube” and suddenly i recalled an old, lovely movie. It has been years since i first saw “Selvi Boylum Al yazmalım” but whenever i watch it, i feel as if it were the first time. It is undoubtedly a great film and “the masterpiece” of its director Atıf Yılmaz.
Anyway, i wrote the name of the film into the “search box” and pushed the enter button. There came many options related to the soundtrack of the film rather than the film itself. I chose one of them and began to listen. Cahit Berkay , the composer of the music of the film, was having a live performance with the clarinetist Hüsnü Şenlendirici.(The video quality was poor but the sound quality was high.) Actually, the entry solo of the performance was enough to make me nearly weeping. But what was the thing that made me so sensitive?
After the entry, the song advanced with many touching notes and at last finished.

But, what was the thing that made me almost crying? Would an American citizen become as sensitive as me by listening that melody? The answer is surely no. Because, the melody doesn’t speak English. If you listen to it, you will agree with me that it speaks some kind of Turkish. It tells “us”. It tells the love and grief of the “Anatolian people”. It belongs to us. It touches “our hearts” not others’. (Traditional Turkish instruments are also effective in this process). When you listen to a jazz song you don’t feel the same. Every kind of melody makes you feel different and every kind of melody makes different people feel different. Your cultural background specifies what you get from the melody. A Turkish peasant ,who doesn’t even know such a word as “jazz”, would probably get bored when he listens to it for the first time in his life. It would be the same for a foreigner who doesn’t know anything about the Turkish folkloric music or Turkish culture. But i don’t know whether what i am trying to say is related to the main subject or not.
After i had watched the live performance, i went on searching for the other options and i finally reached “a marvellous scene” of another movie. It is the most impressive scene of the film “Dila Hanım”. Türkan Şoray and Kadir İnanır are again among the cast and the director is Orhan Aksoy. At that scene, the two main characters of the film- Karadağlı Rıza Bey and Dila Hanım - talk to each other without saying a word, just by the help of the music and dance. Rıza Bey dances with the fascinating music. The only thing he does to tell his feelings, is to use the language of the music and dance. They don’t speak even a word but they reach for some kind of a solution for their blood feud problem between each other. The song of that scene -Dila Hanım- is as impressive as “Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım”. It has again a dominant Turkish sound. I think, that scene is really a great example for the art of language and the language of art. If you want to see these two videos you can watch them by the help of the links given below. Here are the youtube links:

Hi.I've visited İstanbul modern art museum today.Firstly, when I entered the garden I thought I would be so bored that I could hardly examine all the paintings.the pictures about feminism made me a bit reluctant to continue. But once I entered the building I met better pictures.some are really wonderful for me.For instance the work "place where strange things happen "(if I wrote the name wrongly,Im sorry.I wasnt interested in the name itself) made me deeply amazed.many characters were placed in it.but I dont think I could notice ıf there werent any explanations.ıt was very complex and ıt had an extremely wide range of imagination.there were many thoughts and imaginations in it.

Also,I have found the chance to know better Gökşin Sipahioğlu thanks to that visit. He took good photos,in which we can understand the condition of those societies, from all over the world. From everyday life to war life,he was able to take the best pictures. He tells the cultures of societies via photos in an affective way.
In short,it was a useful visit. All the paintings are worth to see,the documentaries are worth to watch.Thanks..

I should tell that I really found the homework on music very impressive, It is one of a kind. So, thank you for the insight you gave us, and made us think that language, be it verbal, non-verbal or musical, is something very deeply inscirbed in our society. And now, I am really interested in understanding if the structure of the notes and gams are also socially based or what, and if the instrument (the channel in this case) are so important in the expressive function?

Other homeworks also made me think about the relation of art with the language. And if the ability to use the signs, be it spoken, written or whatever, is actually in the very heart of human nature. So, language is not the miracle it seems to be, when we see the expressive power/ability of human beings eben when they don't use language, perhaps language borne out of this power/ability alone. We only use sound signs and lately written ones.

Your work has been great and I thank you all for the hard work and that you gave me some quality time to read intellectual and clever contributions of yours.

language is a way of expression.this expresion can be done with many ways. ıt doesnt have to be in a written or oral method. sometimes, a colour , a shape, a symbol can become the exact expression that you want to convey to your receiver. ın the museum I saw this clearly. to understand a language you have to know its code system.as I'm not familiar with what the painters used to express to their feelings ıt was diffucult for me to understand them.but ıt was an important experience for me.if I were interested in paintings this experience would be more meaningful for me

Firstly, Mr. Can I thank you so much for this subject which is important and urgent for us.

-Artists' names
-Artists' works

Regina Jose Galindo
Who Can Remove the Footprints?

Artist Regina Jose Galinda is from a country in South America, a continent of authoritarian governments, and her country Guatemela is the leading auhoritarian country.

In her video, there is her reaction to political matters in her country where many people died in civil wars and violent crime waves. She walks on her blood red painted feet and simply shows us the eternal impressions of public of the streets in a city even if they don’t live anymore, by which she sends a bothering message for the dictatorship in her country and dictators.

Mona Hatoum
+ and –

In her work ‘+ and –’, Mona Hatoum shows us the endless behaviours in human’s history. Like people create cultures and meaningful things through history, the half turning stick gives a aesthetical shape to the flat sand beneath itself in Hatoum’s work, on the other hand; the other half of the turning stick destroys that view and gives it the old flat shape in the beginning, like many individuals and groups did and turned years back in history.

Juan Munoz
Thirteen Laughing at Each Other

Juan Munoz’s 13 scuplture easily cathces and involves you in their matter; each laugh at the same thing with closed eyes remembering the thing they laugh, and surrounded by those 13 laughing people, you realize there is no difference between the enviroment you are in and the outide real world; there are also crazy things with slight or no logic deserving a laugh also and the fact that you, the whole community, are in the bottom of a huge black hole, not able to get rid of it for now.

I visited İstanbul Modern Museum. I examined most of the paintings.I think İsmet Doğan's painting one of the most important one.He creates his painting on a wooden surface with a mixed tecnique. He painted one more woman portrait in his work but this women painted like silhouette.but most interesting thing surface covered with alphabet and silhouettes painted on it.the other interesting work belongs to Hüsamettin Koçan. He embossed the body figures.when ı saw this painting ı think that art i not only for us blind people is also examine the paintings and fell its emotions. And for the last I want to say about Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu's otoportrait. With two basic colors and various plays of texture the painting has a string simplicity and narrative power.Seeing very important painter's works together was amazing for me...

İstanbul Museum of Modern Arts
Venice-İstanbul exibition
Semiha Berksoy

All works of the painter reflect her inner world. I think she had a difficult life due to some problems; almost all her works are self-portraits in this exhibition and she didn't draw herself as a happy woman. All the faces are scared and their eyes are wide open, hair is risen. Even in the picture she discribes "love" the couple doesn't look pleased. They are frightened. She didn't like her father as much as her mother and sister, i think, because she drew her mother and sister 3-4 times with herself but not her father

ISTANBUL MODERN;
Actually the exhibition is beutiful.I really enjoyed it,depite the fact that i was there, just because of a homework. But, i recently realized that this homework is build on a purpose, through which we are going understand some important point related to Linguistics.

The first thing I recalled after the visit is that it is not necessary for communication vehicle to be just written or spoken. People also express themselves by composing, drawing or painting.

When we examine paintings, we will come up with the reality that the features of the language that artists use is really similar to the spoken or written language features. There is a Self-portraits part in exhibition hall and just self portraits are shown here. And we get a great chance to compare them with one another. They are all painted in the century and each artist use different ways to reflect similar feelings. And another point is that similar products are given by the same artists. Each artist has a style and they generally don't change it.(ex:Nur İyem's...)Without bein informed we can say the artist of a pic.,similarly in language,if you read an article, you can guess the writer, because of the language use...

ı want to write about an old exibition in istanbul modern: fikret mualla retrospektifi.even you know anything about his life you can easily predict somthing about his personality and world view.by his paintings you enter a new world, a crazy genious' diffirent world.his paintings are about ordinary things but his work makes them extraordinary.he shows his inner part of the soul and you feel it sorrowfully.you see the world from a man's eyes who is admired by picasso but he maintained his life by bartering his paintings with something he needs.without words he express himself, his feels perfectly. actually ı think he can not do this by words.

Thanks to ur homework u ve given us in previous week , i visited Istanbul Modern Art Museum.I saw all the exhibitions ,but especially the part named as Kesisen Zamanlar attracted me most. The main portrait in the entrance of the hall is Abdulmecid`s “Goethe in the Harem” and Fikret Mualla`s “Kahvede 3 kisi” are the most outstanding works of art according to me
As I was examining the works,I really felt like indulging in sceneries. In other words , the artists can express their intention not only by drawing but also by using colours.
In “Goethe in the Harem” Abdulmecid uses the language so effectively that he builds a bridge between west and east , by drawing the symbols of both west and east. In the painting the woman has a book by Goethe in her hand ,on the other side there is a framed calligraphy on the wall. I think this is because of the intention of the artist to point of the appreciation both western culture of the royal family of Ottoman Empire.

We know the communication means not only verbal but also non verbal.I believe that the works, pictures are in this group.I have visited ISTANBUL MODERN MUSEUM .ACTUALLY it is the first time ı have seen such a marvellous museum The most fasnicating work is komet/untitled.The work brings together four figures whose relationship with another can not be completely defined. In an area surrounded by hills and trees. The group on the right that may be considered as father and daughter meet group of 2 figures on the left carrying a letter and lantern in their hands. These 4 figures suggest four different states of mind expressed thorough happy ,anxious, mysterious expression. They are in relationship whosereason and consequence we can not quite understand. As we see ,just from a PİCTURE we can get the theme and commnucation easily.

I think the language of art is not like our language that we use everyday.Understanding this language is hard because we can not always understand the real feelings that the artist wants to give us by his/her work.I visited in this year 2 important exhibition at Sabancı Museum. One of them is Picasso and the other is Rodin.I have heard about two names before but after my visits,I changed my opinion about these two artist and two art.I think now the language of art is not so hard to understand only we should go out of the some linguistic forms that we know and use everyday. For example, Picasso creats a face but when we look at it, at first we get anything. After we learned Picasso's language, we start to understand. He says "Art is not to reflect what is exist ,it is creation and it is to show what is not exist so we see in his pictures extra-ordinary figures, faces etc...so I can say that language of art is used for showing us what is not existing by signs, figures, colours etc...They are not exist because there is no an equivalent of them in our everyday language. We can only explaining them but we should go out of everyday language for understanding deeply them. That is why human-being needs to use this language.Understanding of human entails going out of our language.

hi! I am also one of them who chooses İstanbul Modern for their homework.İnitially, i was absolutely indifferent and uninterested. But with the step into the art museum i felt as if i was in an another world ,different perspectives, different life experinces and their reflection with advanced handmade aptitude and mental capacity.İ must confess that i have difficulty most of the abstract works of the artist but they are so effective and captivatng that you appreciate the artist.the potreit made by Ahmet Hamdi Bey is such an effective that you cant see your eyes what a great masterpiece!even the most little detail is not forgotton.İ have spent about 3 hours there but it really needs a full day because you dont want to go outside. While on the stairs to get the first floor you are extremely suprised chains gives a very cool atmosphere and the books (thounds of them)creates such an excellent view that everybody must see here to get this feeling. This floor is full of excitig this especially when you feel a room supported by 12 projectors makes you feel fly .İt is marvellous.
All in all i have enjoyed to be there maybe without this homework i would never intent to be there thanks for giving the chance of seeing such a charming place.
And in most of the arts theri is a note:"without any comment"you should breathe that atmosphere to feel and evaluate because with just using brushes and paint they translate your emotions with freely without thinking about any border and pressure that are hidden in yourself. It might be an indispensable place to express real you inside yourself....

may be because it is the closest one to our school, most of our friends, like me, has visited ISTANBUL MODERN. yes it is both a close and big art museum, but for me it is more than these reasons. Why it is different for me is that we can see very famous works of art there. So I think we are lucky to have such an art museum so close to us.

It is true that, it is very hard to express our thoughts without using words or expressions but paint, colours and shapes, etc. So it is why this task is very difficult.

Before writing these words I read some of our friends' comments on the subject. They have very interesting and very good comments.I agree all of my friends.
But I want to do something different from them.Yes,I saw many amazing paintings and I can say that most of the painters are very good in explaining their feelings using only paintings.Yes they are expert in using different colours for different words. And yes they are very good in giving shape to thoughts. But is it enough to say only these words for an art work?Is its only mission to picturise the thoughts?
No I don't think so.I think they should have more functions. To raise attention to social problems, to remind sth old to new generations, to show a different aspect of sth, to create a new view, to make comment on a subject can be some of these different functions.

Instead of the ones I saw ın the museum I want to give a different but very familier example: LEONARDO DA VINCI's MONA LISA!
Even centuries passed over its existence, still there is no one common opinion on it.Everyone trying to explain this art of work has a different opinion. It is true that most of them have no serious criterias, but still they are comments on the subject. Some of them say it is a politic painting, some say it is social, some say it is religious and the list goes so on...

To sum up, no one can disagree that paintings doesn't have a meaning.Even the most complex painting has a meaning, but what is important is to know the background of the work as well.Only by having some background information about the work we can give a decision about what it is trying to reveal to us.

I went to Istanbul Modern Art Galery. There was a picture galery.honestly,I didnt understand most of pictures. It is clear that they were affected by time, place they lived. For example Adnan Varınca mae a view from Tuzla,Ozdemir Altan made a picture whose name was Dog Park-everything is on a plan but he tries to tell us that these stated plan for the park also includes riots beyond what we saw.Yüksel Arslan made 'the capitalist process of production'it is a picture affected by time.Haluk Akakçe'a schizophrenic going for a walk'his place is a labyrinth,we can see how he see the world from his eyes...Burhan Doğançay'ISTANBUL'he cut and selected his favourite pictures about istanbul,we can understand from his selections how he saw istanbul, such as news,tickets...He is telling some difficulties of Istanbul, most effective ones for himself and us..Nesat GUNAL also made an earth man? This meaning is farmer man but why did he make him?when we check his city he lived he is from nevşehir,an agricultural city. Most of them are telling something with their lives effect,background....

I went to istanbul modern art gallery and ı like cihat burak's The Land Where Strange Things Happen mostly. The artist cihat burak like most of the artists expressed his emotions with colours not with words. And this make the meaning more effective and every individual can get different emotion from a single paint can find different tastes from life in it.For example cihat burak has painted his own dream world;marked by a town composed of strange buildings that are works of ottoman european and indian cultures. In this scene you see the details of extreme imagination on the different styles of buildings so it is open to the discovery and different comments. When you look at the painting you see two men fighting for a girl on a raft, coffins floating on the river,an elephant which has four teeth, leda and swan making love in the bow of a flying ship. You can understand nothing from this paint but also a lot of things. When you think of the objects you find very strange meanings for example coffins can remind us death, fighting men represent the love,
elephant can mean life which is in the middle and swan and leda express romantism so these meaningless objects shape a world, compose life's needs. When you visit an art gallery you are like visiting a library but the difference is that books come to your mind after you look at the paintings.

Hi everybody!

I know I am late but I wish it is not a matter for you.

I went to Istanbul Modern Art Museum last week. There was a painting galery. In general, I studied on paintings by linguistics aspect. Even though all of paintings were not meaningful for me, I left there positively.

From the paintings, as far as I understood, the artists had painted what they wanted to see on the planet; maybe contradict to the general view of their time, as Da Vinci did.

I hardly understood especially abstract ones but I think others also depict what we can not see. For instance, still-art paintings work succesfully for us to see even small details of objects.

And did the artists succeed in giving the right messages? It is about what we want to see in them personally. some can understand what the paintings actually are while others can not, like me:)After all, as interpretation does not go in one way, it is vital to get a meaning from them...

I visited 'Istanbul Modern Art Museum'as the majority of the class did.To tell the truth,it needs ability to understandthe meaning which the artists are expressing. It was quite hard for me to get the message which the artists want to give with their works without getting information about these paintings.I have understood that artists are expressing the meaningsin their minds with the colors, figures of object ,person ,animal, etc. which change according to the themes which the artists choose.
The name of the painting which attracted my attention was 'MINER'by Nedim Günsür.The thing which attracted my attention was the figure of a man because of the vast place which covers in the painting and the natural lanscape drawn from life in the background. The ships and boats in Ereğli Harbour(I learned this information after having got information about the painting and the artist)and all machinery used for loading them with coal seen in the background depend on the figure of the man which covers a vast place -I mean that the miners-who extract the coal from underground. The artist had emphasized the importance of the minersin Ereğli which is a mining region by giving more vast place in the painting. Also the color of BLACK is dominant in the painting. It is possible to say that with the choice of color, the artist emphasizes the reality of the city snd these people who put their lives in danger for the sake of coal.
Briefly,NEDİM GÜNSÜR had expressed the meanings in his mind perfectly with the choice of color and the vast place for the figure of the miner.

the painting of GUSTAV KLİMPT every shape has a meaning was made brilliantly and consists of lots of interesting ideas in it.ı saw this painting in an authentic pub before ı went for it a lecture in the part of english language and literature and at first sight it occured nothing to me but when we started to study it in the lecture in detail,ı was absolutely shocked at the meanings it consists ,we looked at it in every aspects it was very good for me as ı learn how ı should look at a painting!
ın the painting the main colour is yellow which represents grief, autumn, the forthcoming of death and sickliness. There is a man who embraces a woman ,they are lovers .he is significantly darker than his lover so he is the dominant figure .the woman is quiet uncomfortable there she would like to suffocate him in order to get rid of him.the woman is circler shapes whereas the man is rectangular shapes.rectangular shapes represents the confinement so the man to frame the woman withing his own rectangules!circler shapes on her represents equality ,eternity, circle is the perfect.shape in nature ,in the painting clock shapes and colour yellow represent passivity of the woman .starlike blue flowers in the woman's head represents sorrow ,sadness, coldliness, passivity and the depression in the painting and the blue stars represents loyalty, confidence and peace in heaven.there is no passion in woman.her lips are reddish-orange ,she is tensed.she stands on the corner he may give her no other chance!
the man would be in the carnal love as he is kissing passionately .she is blushed so you think that she is in love as when you love you blush.about kissing in literature when you are kissing ,you exchange souls, lips are the gate of your soul, you are melting into one another,it is the kiss enables you to became one..

Searching meaning in a work of art made meeting about the actual nature of understanding abstract things, especially the feelings they reflect. At first I did not infer anything from the magic lines which was displayed in Istanbul Modern, yet after a while I could understand something. The first thing that took my attention much was the Neşet Günal's painting(Men of The Earth,1974).In an arid landscape a 'Men of The Earth' rests briefly on his hoe, looking into the distance. His posture, hands, feet, clothing, the thorn bush under his foot, lunch bag and water jug behind him tell the story of his like. The painting told me much more thing apart from an old man's figure and life.I understood the struggles, troubles, sorrows, deprivations of the 'Men of The Earth' from this striking and powerful masterpiece.I was effected by the scene because I'm very accustomed to such proletarian people from my town. The second painting belonged to Turan Eroğlu,Altındağ.In fact it seemed very complex in first sight, but you could understand that it told the confusion during the transition between country life and urban life. The last thing was the Haluk Akakçe's one which was 'A Schizophrenic Going For a Walk'.It was one of the mixed and hard to understanding one.Maybe the painter tried to reflect the disorder of the society by using the mixed lines. As you see ther is a secret language in every part of an art.It can be colour, charecter or any material,it is not the matter. The real thing is if we know how to look,we know how to see as well!!!

Hi!I went to the Istanbul Modern Art Museum like most of my friends. I liked it, it is a very big museum.I liked work of arts in there.
I liked two pictures in there.
!The first one is "PAINTINGS for BLINDS" by Hüsamettin KOCAMAN.Because I think it contains a message.Actually thereis no very visible thing in this picture. There are some embossed forms, but I think its message is that everybody sees anything the way of they want.So people who do not know anything about art,can not understand anything about pictures,music,cinema...
!Another one that I liked is "THE CAPITALIST PROCESS of PRODUCTION" by Yüksel ASLAN.I think it has a message too.He tells us about capitalist process. Also he uses details very well.He tells very important things in details. For example,he drew coins on faces of some head workmen. So he says that the capitalist process works only for money.Money is everything for capitalism. Also he drew a head workman's face like a monkey or like a man who lived thousands years before that do not evolve. There is a boss in front of him and he speaks with him.So I think he tells us that capitalism works only for money,it does not think about poor people. If somebody want to promoted in capitalist system,he should butter his boss up and should not think about workers.
!!Also I liked slide shows in the basement under the first floor. They tells us how art be done, there are interviews...

hi
i visited Pera Art Museum for this work.Actually, i wasnt eager to visit a museum 'cos as we all know, we dont have this kind of good habits. But after visiting, i changed my point of view about museums and i wanna thank you for urging us these kind of activities.
i visited all of the exhibitions and i come to realize that no matter what the tool of the communication is,its actually a reflection of the time .In each exhibition ,the pieces give an idea about the way of life of the time. For instance, in 'portraits from the empire' how they were worn;the colors, the style, the time and place of the clothing show us the way they live.Similarly, the collection of measures or the buildings they built up give the same impact to us.They are absolutely successful in expressing the meaning as just by looking these particulars,we can see the glory of the empire.what is expressed is indeed what was experienced at the time. moreover this expression is an international language that everyone understand.and i think this common language is the reason why those tourists prefer visiting the museums in our country.this language is more effective, enjoyable and unforgettable than verbal and non-verbal language.
im sory to say this but we have generally been unaware of this point and become unfamiliar with the things that once belonged to us with the help of those boring history books and courses in our previous classes.i think we should do something for the next generation not to experience this lost and use the language effectively to reflect what we own though we dont have much to leave behind...

Great! Great! Yoo! U’ve got da PoWer! ! !

I’ve been in Istanbul Modern Art Museum (Lnk-1). The exhibitions start from museum’s garden, there is a “The Future for Turkish Woman Artists, 2006” exhibition and “Thirteen Laughing at Each Other, 2001” This museum tries to make something for This country’s future that is “Education Room” for 6 – 12 years kids to take their attention to the art, but they don’t let me go into that room :( :( :P. however, lets continue my tour, the next is Painting exhibition that is “Intersecting Times” in the entrance floor. There are lots of painting by different artists. All they have own feelings. But I look superficial that I don’t try to feel their feelings, because they started boring me, I don’t much interest to paintings, may be charcoal pencil work better. Just one point that I interest some color combination and 3D techniques that gives a life to the arts, they scream “We are alive” to me. Now, let’s go to the down stairs from stair that is one of art, so you can not touch to it. However I like it more, it has surrounded with cracked thick glass and chains tighten from downstairs to upstairs. My preference is downstairs; because there is a technology used which are slide shows with the continued photos, for example Donna Conlon uses serial photos of discarded objects to built apartments and residences in “Urban Phantoms, 2004” work (Lnk-2). Also another slideshow created by Robin Rhode that is “Horse, 2002” (Lnk-3). Then photo exhibition “Right Place Right Time” by photojournalist Gökşin Sipahioglu (Lnk-4). Those photos show us several countries’ life which is war, poorness, politics, daily life, habits and etc at 1956 to 1972. Then the last exhibition is “Venice to İstanbul”. There were many works of art like “Plumb-line and Pearl, 2003”, “Footprints, 2003”, “Curry, 2005”, “Vapour, 2004” and others. In this area, I interested in to “+ and -, 1994-2004” and “Breath, 2005”. Finally, I went, saw and told thanks to you Mr. Can to see the life in a complete with breath, drink, eat, however I just want to say may be I don’t think about to go to art museum if you did not give this mission to us. We need such as these activities but most of we don’t give enough attention to them.

first of all, sorry for being so late.I visited pera museum two weeks ago but i couldnt send my comment.
when you first talked about our homework,i thought that it would be an 'angarya'for me but after my visit it was different.i liked museum and exhibitions so much and i realized that your aim was not only to make us go there and post our comment but beyond this to make this homework a step for a change in our life styles because we are going to be teachers and affect lives of hundreds during our life.thanks for this.it was a really nice experience for me.
about pera museum:
as a lover of istanbul,my favourite exhibition was old photos of istanbul. they were so effective for me.in those photos we see istanbul from different photographers' perspectives and they do not need words and long explanations.when you look at photos a relationship begins between you and him/her,you feel as you are talking about istanbul, asking questions to them about istanbul in that period .i think this is a hidden and nonverbal conversation but it has more than a verbal one.
also paintings of women from ottoman empire were nice.knowing that artists who never saw those women painted these gives a clue about their imagination.furthermore ,it is obvious that hidden things catches attention of artists
this will remain as an unforgettable memory for me...

I visited the İstanbul modern Museum last week. At there, when I entered from the door, ı expected that ı would meet with boring items. Hovewer; ı became for me an interesting journey from the past to present. Because, pictures were reflecting our style of lives from the past and present. And then it asks some questions or make us to ask some to ourselves. I met there with “INTERSECTING TIMES” whıch as ı saıd before tells us a ıntersectıng between two lines.
When I start to observe the pictures, I made a conclusion about them and it is that in life we don’t see each other until we crash somewhere in a place.

Firstly, i'm sorry for being late for doing this homework.i visited pera museum about 10 days ago but i haven'nt got enough time.and also to say truth writing smthng about this work made me bored as visiting the museum.i went to pera museum unvolunteerly;because i thought that there will be boring thing and i can't find anything address to me.of course i was wrong! When i went there i encountered with interesting people from Ottoman state, also i went to the istanbul-more tranquil, more natural, but more magnificant one- by the picture i saw there.the most interesting thing that i was affected is pictures of 'haseki'-the most favourite woman of the sultans-.they were so realistic that i felt as i was in their time.also, the pictures in pera museum reminded me that painting is a universal language and even if there is not the painter you can communicate wıth he/she.moreover,i find myself swimming in the river of the painter.visiting the pera museum is a new cultural beginning for me.thank you for your beneficial task.it was a good experience for me.

I visited Sabanci museum during Picasso exhibition. All pictures took my attention but my favorite was "yoksullarin yemegi" I think the reason of it I understood this picture easliy because I did not understand most of other pictures for example I saw`a picture;there is a figure,l looked bottom and is written "COCK".After I saw it, I looked the picture again and I was so sorry because I did not see the cock.

When I entered Sabanci museum, Firstly I thougt how Sabanci lived like a house? Now it is more suitable as a museum.

WHEN I VISITED SABANCI MUSEUM FOR THE VERY EXIBITION OF PICASSO,I WAS AWARE OF THE FACT THAT I WAS GOING THERE TO SEE DORA MAAR.PERHAPS PICASSO WAS REFLECTING A NON-TRUSTWORTHY APPROACH IN EMOTIONAL MATTERS,BUT I THINK DORA MAAR IS HIS BEST.BECAUSE MEN CAN UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER.HIS OTHER WORKS FOR HIS DARLINGS OR SWEETHEARTS WERE FULL OF DIFFERENT COLOURS AND SHAPES.BUT DORA MAAR WAS PICTURIZED IN A HARMONIOUS TONE OF A SINGLE COLOUR .BECAUSE SHE WAS MAKING PICASSO REMEMBER JUST ONE THING...

One of the most common problems of not understanding or misunderstanding an exhibition of an artist is that we do not know about his life, social and political perspectives, previous exhibitions, approaching to people and art,his aims, what he wants to show us,ideological assumptions of the artist. When I visited Istanbul Modern Art Museum; I did not know how to assess or evaluate or comment on each exhibition.Anyway, Kesişen Zamanlar has an affective language style which takes the visitors to decades ago. However, anybody can get different points from kesişen zamanlar;because it is appropriate to comment differently what to see. when you look at the portrays carefully you feel musical touching of the pen of the artist.for instance "abstract composition" of Ömer Uluç is a reflection of looking at the human body;nevertheless I just feel that I saw those people before. It has realistic figures. The artist wants us to feel as if we are inside the portray. Sometimes we can think that he uses his pen instead of his tongue. He draws what he sees or what he wants to see.He achieves to create an interaction among the people in the painting, the landscape and us. I appreciate him for providing a colorful touching to the painting.

Last year ı visited Sakıp Sabancı Museum and there was picasso exhibition and I think his collections were really interesting. And the most interesting one was The Bullfight.Generally his collections there were nudes, seated women and interiors.in his collection The Bullfight the violent but still poetic bullfight was evident.İn fact it was difficult to undrestand his works completely but all in all I got the idea that his pieces illustrate a personal need to discover the true nature of the thing observed.Meanwhile I shouldn't forget the collection Two girls reading which is one of several works demonstrating a fascination with women engaged in everyday activities.

hi
For that homework I visited the museum of modern arts. How can such work of art taka place of language. I think all the people in the world think art is also a perfect way to express feelings thoughts. In some stiotions we canno find right words to say whatever we think that is because our language . Our words depends on our language so if there is no word in our language about our feeling you cant say anything but the colours, the points, the shapes never end. You can say whatever you want in that way.while wondering ther I saw the work of utku varlık . that was an outburst of feelings . he was so desperatelly thinking about a woman or wanted us to think so. he managed to do so with just using colours and points, withoutm anywords. That ıs a part of human nature we think so because art or maybe that points make us think so. Like verbal language there is language of art ant that enables un to understand such complicated works . if you are not goood at that language you can not understand the meaning or you get it wrong . it is exactly same in verbal language situatıon.

I visited İSTANBUL MODERN ART MUSEUM because of the easiness of transportation.I have never seen such abstract works so far.It was difficult to understand the message the artists tried to give with their works so Ichose to deal with the '' Self-Potraits by Edip Hakkı Köseoğlu, Namık İsmail and Sami Yetik''because they are more concrete than the other works. These artists had tackled their own faces as themes. In the darkness of their inner world and the depths of their eyes, artists reveal themselves in self-potraits.What they see is not just a head with nose, mouth and cheeks. They are endeavoring to interpret their own place in the world throughthe marks laft by life on their face. These pictures do not capture frozen momentslike a photograph but incorporatepast-present and future and write the artists' outer and inner worlds. From these which depict every detail with meticulous workmanship to these which interpret the faces' meaning ,these pictures essentially show the artists'desire to confront themselves through their own faces. They search their own faces for what they want to see and reveal. They can successfully reflect on their faces in their mind by means of the depths of their eyes and the darkness and lightness of the colors which they use.

This might be a bit off-topic but I believe there are a lot of smokers here on www.blogger.com. I have recently decided to find a good vendor of electronic cigarettes. I'm done with paying so much for tobacco smokes.A friend recommended G Smoke According to their website this is how they described their product:
"Green Smoke offers quality Electronic cigarettes with spendable cartridges that produce the highest smoke volume in the industry. With a variety of flavors and nicotine levels, Green Smoke's™ patented product offers convenience and exhibit performance that is unmatched. G Smoke products have been independently tested for safety."
I'm thinking of buying them. Anyone else have experience with this e-cigarette?

Next I've picked out Dennis Violet who played for the reds of Manchester in no fewer than 291 games during the Busby Babes period. Violet amassed 178 goals and was one of the lucky players that didn't perish in the Munich disaster. manchester united For many people, Manchester United is not only a great football team but one of the city’s premier ambassadors to the world. With this as background, United is probably the more popular of the two Manchester football teams, wouldn’t you think? berbatov Back in the Newton Heath era, the kits were made up of yellow and green stitched sections (1878 - 1892), and looked a bit like a jockey's silks. Some additional colour schemes were also employed such as a red and white shirt (1892-1894) paired with blue shorts. This all changed in 1902 when the club changed its name to Manchester United, the club radically altered the kit colours to red shirts, white shorts and black socks. This colour palette has been the foundation of the home strip ever since. The away strip is white jerseys, black shorts and white socks however different looks to this strip have existed. The most notorious of these was the all-grey strip employed in the 1995-1996 campaign. The club did not win a single game when sporting the grey shirts. The team were vociferous in their claims that the drab colour meant they had difficulty seeing their team-mates, hence passes were being sprayed all over the pitch! Another variation was the all-black kit used in 1994 and 2003. There is also a "Third Strip". This shirt which is not often used, is an homage to the kit worn when the club won the 1968 European Cup. The team has occasionally used the strips employed for training sessions in actual matches although this has been a rare occurence.

But Wednesday was not Real’s night; the team lost the first leg at France and had to make 2 goals in order to advance. And at home, there seemed to be real possibility. himno real madrid Just entering the second half, Raul Gonzalez collected a pass from Ronaldo to finish the play and set up the first goal of the match. Only two minutes after, Matteo Contini saw the red card and Zaragoza was left with 10 players. But far from collapse due to the expulsion, the Zaragoza player Adrian Colunga faced Iker Casillas and got the equalizer at minute 61. Despite this goal, the Whites kept attacking but it was not until minute 82 when Kaka, who came back from injury, picked up a deep pass from Ronaldo and put the final 2-1 for Real Madrid.

Ahead by one, Real Madrid controlled the ball on both ends of the field; Espanyol was left behind the ball without ideas. Even when the team managed to recover the ball, the players didn’t know what to do with it. Espanyol’s ineptitude helped Pellegrini’s men enjoy a wonderful half hour, during which they played how they wanted, when they wanted, and where they wanted. ricardo kaka The second goal of the night came after Xabi sent a pass to the edge of the box, from which Messi drove a precise, angled left-footed shot into the far corner of the net. Then, left alone in the penalty area, Gerard Picque took a pass from Ibrahimovic and finished the play with an easy throw that passed the goalkeeper and moved the score to 3-0.

If you have been seriously researching for helpful information concerning Thoi trang nu, then we feel this document may be what you are looking for. We are all familiar with the feelings of trying to find out about a specific thing and not even being certain of what is needed. There are many men and women who publish great content online, but they are not known, and that makes it very hard with trusting them. That is something every person who has looked for information has encountered. What we will do for you is talk about some solid details regarding this topic, and you will have the ability to have a firm understanding of what to do next.

The general complexities of men's and women's style

Both men and women could have the pressures of maintaining their clothing up-to-date and in time, yet men's style often seems a lot less complicated. Of program, for both sexes, outfits and style options can be just as intricate, and there are many'stylish'items that could quickly become fashion faux pas - who is able to say they often times see people running around in 70s flames? On the other hand, men's style has a few choice things that will exist eternally - which man is planning to look out of position with a good-quality, tailored suit, for example? Select classic pieces, colors and fabrics and you'll never seem out-of-place.

Why traditional men's fashion is amazing

The traditional man's suit has hardly changed for over a hundred years. True, there are numerous versions for various functions, but they are all popular in their quest for a clever, sharp search for the individual. The good thing about basic fashion for men is that it is simply stylish simply neat. A well-groomed man can almost always look his sharpest in a well-tailored suit, and this can be a testament to the design of such apparel. A suit will undoubtedly be utilized to work in many jobs due to the professional search it provides to the wearer, instilling a feeling of respect and trust. Similarly a suit will undoubtedly be worn to many social situations, such as a tuxedo to a black-tie affair. This amazing versatility that enables matches to be utilized in nearly all functions is what gives it its amazing edge and a permanent devote men's fashion.

Contemporary movements in classic men's fashion

Although common men's styles will never be changed, it is interesting to note that changes in men's fashion trends have produced certain classic clothes back to fashion. The popularity of vintage clothing, specifically, has had back a wide-variety of basic designs into men's wardrobes, such as that of the dandy man. 'Dandy'is a term used to refer to men who clothe themselves in a classic yet elegant way, placing importance on appearance and working in a refined method. This pattern for nearly'over-the-top'traditional style for men is apparent from events including the'Tweed Run', where men and girls of all ages dress yourself in notably Victorian-style outfit and take to the streets on vintage bicycles - with most of the men sporting perfect mustaches! This is just one single of several types of proof exhibiting the resurrection of such styles. There are also numerous sites on line which focus on gentlemanly style - such as'The Dandy Project'and'Dandyism'- as well as entire web sites such as'The Art of Manliness'focused on providing articles on basic men's fashion and grooming.

In summary, though specific issues with classic men's style may be brought back as new developments, the simple clothes that they are based on will never slip out of fashion.

"All it takes really are a few simple costumes. And there's one key - the simpler the better." - Cary Grant
